From my formal education and a lifetime of experiences, I have gained a broad understanding and appreciation of the many ways people can live their lives and the different kinds of personalized help they may be seeking to make their lives more satisfying.

I identify as a white, cisgender male, heterosexual, middle class, able-bodied, United States national, postmodern poly-atheist Buddhist. 

I was founder and lead teacher at NOW House Mindful Awareness Center.

I was Founder and Clinical Director at NOW House Therapy Center.

I was adjunct faculty at Phillips Graduate Institute in Encino, CA, teaching Postmodern, Solution-Oriented Therapies to therapists in training. I have been adjunct faculty at California State University, Northridge. I have supervised therapists in training at Kaiser Permanente’s Behavioral Health Training Institute, NOW House Therapy Center, California Family Counseling Center at Philips Graduate Institue, Encino, CA and Valley Trauma Center, Van Nuys, CA, and in my private practice.

I am founder of Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®, an organization dedicated to improving gender relationships between men and women internationally with thousands of men protesting men's violence against women world-wide. I am also founder of Venture Humanity, Inc., an organization dedicated to developing and facilitating peace, violence prevention and community projects. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® is a Venture Humanity, Inc. project.

I was a participant in the Los Angeles Salon movement prompted by Utne Magazine in the early 1990’s. I used that experience to start the Los Angeles Postmodern Therapists Salon in 2005.

I gave the first retreat talk and was the lead teacher at Big Bear Retreat Center’s first retreat in 2018.

Other experiences that contribute to my work as a psychotherapist, life coach and minfulness trainer, and my areas of expertise include business (corporate, sales, management and coaching/team building), computer (instruction,consulting, database design and programming), the creative arts (writing, producing and directing theater and film) and growing up on a US Military base. I am married (to a therapist) with one child (who is doomed because both of her parents are therapists). I am an avid gamer with xBox my preferred console and enjoy fighting for my life against zombies.
