- Here is an article published in Progress (1996). One of the foremost needs of survivors of sexual abuse is to regain a sense of control over their lives. In the context of Narrative Therapy, therapists co-create with their clients environments wherein clients can notice and harness their own powers, capabilities and competencies, heal themselves, and provide new contexts for their experiences of themselves and their lives. In this paper I discuss the long-term effects of childhood sexual abuse and the ideologies of Narrative Therapy that help facilitate these kinds of life reclaiming experiences. Article
